Day 8 - Something you forgot you have but love


Love is probably a bit of a strong word, but I've been on the hunt for a decent red cardigan for an age. I had forgotten all about this little baby sat hidden on a hanger under a load of others.

I'd still like another one, but this will do for now.

I bought this dress at the weekend from Primark. I love Primark for a bargain, but I hate shopping there. It's always manic, I can never be bothered to scour the whole shop and things don't usually fit me too well. I struck lucky with this spotty dress - the belt went nowhere near me, but that's a minor issue. The band underneath the boobage area is also a bit snug, so a 20 probably would have been better, but alas, nowhere to be seen.

Saturday night out

Despite having the hangover from hell on Friday, I managed to completely forget how awful I felt and proceeded to drink my bodyweight in wine on Saturday. We went out for dinner with friends, but ended up really rushed so I only managed to get a quick snap of my outfit once we got to their house.

This was the second outing for my flatforms and they still bloody kill.

The jeans were bought from Claire at A Monkey Fatshionista and they fit really well. At first I thought they might be a bit short as they are regular length, but actually I am embracing them as ankle grazers and I like it ;) I can see these getting a lot of wear if we ever have any form of summer.

I've had this lace tank top for a while and find it works with numerous pieces in my wardrobe for brightening up an otherwise dull outfit.

Bloggers challenge - a catch up

I've not posted much over the last few days as I couldn't face switching on the laptop. When I do, I can't resist checking work emails and then I end up working on a weekend which is not ideal!

Anyway, I am blabbering, I've still been taking photos so this post will contain the past 3 days.

5 - Your best bargain


This is not really a bargain in the cheap sense of the word, but in the world of Mulberry (with which I am obsessed) this was definitely my biggest bargain.

I'd been lusting after this grey bag for months on the Internet and as much as Mulberry is the one thing I spend a lot of money on, I really couldn't afford the £695 price tag for a handbag. Then it was in the sale and was down to £500, but we'd just gotten engaged and I had my slightly sensible head on a the time.

So, about 6 months ago I had to pop up to Milton Keynes for a family lunch and was driving past Bicester Village on my way home.... there is a Mulberry shop in Bicester. This bag was still on my mind.

It must have been fate as it was in the shop on Sale for £195. Clearly still really bloody expensive, but at £400 less than the original asking price, well I was sold.

I love it, I use it every day for work. It's massive and fits everything you could possibly need in it. Plus is a gorgeously soft leather and the colour is amazing. 

6 - Something out of your comfort zone but you love it.

This has to be coloured jeans. My legs are by far the worst part of me. All of my weight is thighs and hips and I have always worn black or very dark blue on my bottom half to detract attention from the size of my thighs. However, I started to see a lot of coloured jeans in plus sizes and I was in lust. I didn't think I could wear them, but eventually I tried a pair in red and that was it, I was sold. I've now got 4 different pairs, all of which I love wearing. I think you've seen all of them before on this blog except the leopard as they are bit on the tight side, but I am working up to them!

7 - A special occasion outfit

I've had a lot of weddings over the past few years and this has to be be my favourite outfit. My Vivien of Holloway dress. I went for black as I thought I'd be able to dress it in numerous different ways - on this occasion, I opted for red. I love this style of dress with a big petticoat underneath.

When I saw today's theme, I immediately thought polka dot would be my favourite, especially red and white as there is an abundance of that in my life.

However, on closer inspection, I don't have many polka dot clothes. Just a lot of it everywhere else.

Blogger challenge - day 3

Something  you are wearing for the first time....

On first thought, there is nothing new about this outfit, you've seen all of it before on this here blog, so today's photo was a bit of a struggle.



And then I remembered, the belt has never been worn before. It's nothing exciting, but it's a first wear! I stayed over at a friend's house last night and had managed to pack really badly. Hence the messy outfit and messy hair.

Shoes! Over 200 pairs at last count and I still feel like I need more.....

This picture has turned out pretty rubbish - but you get the idea?!



I have boxes full on the top shelf of my wardrobe and a basket full of pumps on the floor. I can't resist shoes. I'm currently on the hunt for wedding shoes that my sister can customise, with a small heel (otherwise I walk like a man in drag) but I just keep buying random stuff instead.

I guess shoes are the one thing (as well as handbags) that don't care about how big I am. I'm always a size 8, so I can buy shoes anywhere. Dangerous times.

A quick OOTD, there is nothing exciting about it but I am loving these purple jeans. I just wanted to show off my new necklace made by my sister. She has her own FB page where she sells really cool stuff... shameless promotion done...

So here's day 1:

My wardrobe.


This is actually reasonably tidy, believe it or not. My wardrobe is more of a walk in cupboard and it's crammed full of everything I own.

This is why I need a spending ban! That top shelf which you can't see overly well is all shoes, as well as those on the floor. I'm obsessed.

I've handbags hanging from the walls, as well as some pictures, numerous costs and jackets plus scarves on the door. I love this cupboard but it regularly resembles a total jumble sale!
