Challenging...

Hello people. It's been a while. I've bought a LOT of clothes lately but I never seem to be able to get any decent photos of me wearing them. These are far from decent, but I feel this outfit deserved a post and if I wait for my husband to do the honours, well it will never happen. This is the kind of outfit that I really love. It feels kind of cool.
These jeans have been a challenge. I love the style (ankle grazers are my favourite) but the colour is way out of my comfort zone. Fat legs and light denim... shudder...  But you know what, I wore them all day and out in public and no one batted an eyelid. Shocker.
I've been searching everywhere for a blazer but I can't for the life of me find one in the style I want. I'm all about the cardigans usually, but sometimes you just want to be a bit smarter than that. Most of the ones I have tried have been too short, where can I get a decent longline blazer??
I bought this coat on a whim to fill my jacket void when I had an M&S discount code and I'm pretty pleased with it. It's not too heavy so is ok for summer and it's kind of cool, right? I love the cocoon shape and the fact that it's not exactly subtle.
The top is also another current love of mine, it has a sheer back which adds a hint of sexiness, but it's not too revealing (the grey version is very revealing so I feel the need to wear a vest with it so as not to share my back fat with the world, one day I may stop giving any f*cks). I have a lot of the ASOS swing vests which are awesome, but sometimes you need a little sleeve. Please ASOS, more of these.

Magnificent 7th

Magnificent 7th header

I swear I have no idea where the days are going of late. I can't believe it's the 7th again already. This weeks theme is an outfit styled around your favourite accessory. Usually the only accessory you will see me in is a scarf. Once upon a time I didn't feel dressed without a necklace, then I fell out of love with them and haven't really worn much jewellery since.

I have, however, constantly lusted after Tatty Devines pieces. I had a custom necklace made for my wedding but I've never really been able to justify the price since then.

That was until ASOS had a 25% off event for students - and as my sister just happens to be one, I took advantage of her and had her order these 2 beauties which I have worn every day since. Not ideal in the sun though, I was slightly concerned I'd end up with some very odd sunburn.

This swallow necklace is a bit shorter than I'd like and was garrotting me as a result. I added a hair tie to the clasp to make it longer and now it's perfect. I don't think you need to wear anything fancy with these necklaces, they speak for themselves.

Necklace - Tatty Devine

These jeans are my current favourite. They are 'Acid Wash' and remind me of something I'd have worn in the 80's. The fit is perfect, high waisted so no muffin top, really tight ankle and just enough stretch so they don't overly sag after a few days of wear.
